Description:

Your Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that are responsive to student interest and ability and aligned with the school’s commitment to play based learning
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children via responsive engagement and supervision
  • Coordinate with our team of teachers to provide a stable, nurturing, stimulating, and supportive learning environment
  • Actively communicate with parents via informal daily chats, formal parent meetings, and regular email and photos
  • Conduct ongoing student assessments that comprise formal assessments to parents and that inform ongoing planning and curriculum development

Hours

Both full time and part time roles are available. Full time hours are Monday - Friday from 8:15 am - 3:30 pm and part time hours are Monday - Friday from 8:15 am-1:15 pm.

 

Qualifications:

Your Qualifications

  • Experience with play based learning and emergent curriculum model
  • Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related (in progress accepted) 
  • NYS teaching certification
  • Love of teaching and commitment to lifelong learning
  • Strong communication skills - verbal and written
  • Patience, humor, and creativity
Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education Level: NYS Teacher Certification

Additional Information:

Compensation 

Compensation is commensurate with experience and education.  The salary range for a full time lead teacher is $50,000-$70,000/year. The salary range for a part time lead teacher is $36,000-$43,000/year. Our school year runs from August 25th through June 20th, and our schedule of paid holidays loosely follows the NYC public school calendar.
