Description:

The Teacher Aide/Floater supports the Teachers and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen, and work well with others in a team environment. Assisting the staff in implementing a quality educational program

Responsibilities:

  • Room coverage at lunch and other times when necessary
  • Maintain classroom control, management, and sanitation
  • Provide a routine by maintaining daily schedule adherence
  • Must keep the Director and Assistant Director informed concerning staff members, children, and parental issues.
  • Maintaining the Center’s policies and procedures
  • Attend on-going training
  • High energy.
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Mandated Child Abuse Training
  • Must have a current physical
  • Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences.
  • Additional duties as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED and meet at least one (1) of the following qualifications:
    • A current CDA (Child Development Associate); and
    • 15 hr health and safety training to be completed

    • A desire to work with children through positive interaction is required. 

      Prior experience in childcare is preferred. 

      Continuing education classes are preferred. 

      CPR and First Aid certification is required within the first six months/ or can be obtained while on the job 

      Must undergo a background check before the first day of work. 

      Good time management and oral and written communication are required. 

      Dependable, flexible, and a team player required.

Minimum Education Level: Highschool Graduate or GED
Preferred Education Level: CDA Credential
