Long-established not-for-profit, year round early childhood center in Great Neck, seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Head Teacher to join our team. As a Preschool Head Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and educational environment for young children. Your responsibilities will include implementing age-appropriate curriculum, managing classroom behavior, and fostering the social and cognitive development of each child.
Skills required:
- Strong behavior management skills to create a positive and structured learning environment
- Excellent classroom management abilities to maintain order and engage students effectively
- Proficiency in curriculum development to create age-appropriate lesson plans that align with educational standards
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, including math and literacy education
- Effective communication skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Experience in childcare or early childhood development preferred

- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and activities that promote the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of preschool-aged children
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and positive interactions
- Manage classroom behavior and promote positive discipline techniques to ensure a respectful and cooperative learning environment
- Assess the individual needs of each child and provide appropriate support and guidance to meet their developmental milestones
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate progress, address concerns, and promote parental involvement in their child's education
- Maintain accurate records of each child's progress, attendance, and developmental milestones
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the classroom materials, equipment, and learning spaces
A current Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) in Preschool is required. A Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
Prior experience working in a child care setting is required.
